The goal of detox programs, or “cleanses” is to remove toxins from the body, lose weight, or promote health. Detoxification programs usually involve eating certain foods, taking supplements, herbs, or fasting. They can take a few days to weeks, or even months to complete.
The supplement below is a typical product, containing a long list of herbs, sold for this purpose:

There are many beneficial detox methods, but there has also been no shortage of misinformation and snake oil salesmen in the health and nutrition industry. Years ago the “Master Cleanse” was very popular.

It involved subsisting on water mixed with maple syrup, lemon juice and cayenne pepper and no food for up to 40 days. Its advocates proudly claimed weight loss and were told not to worry, maple syrup contained all the nutrition they needed. They gladly lugged around gallons of this drink wherever they went.
It’s not surprising to lose weight without eating any food, this type of weight loss is temporary. There are many health risks associated with cutting calories so significantly and providing so few nutrients.

The most important detox method is eating Healthy Food. The human body has a natural detoxification system, that involves the liver, kidneys, lungs, the intestines the blood and the skin. These organs work together to remove harmful substances from the body by identifying and metabolizing toxins, converting them into less harmful substances, or by excreting them.
The body’s detoxification system is highly effective. However, to keep it functioning optimally, daily intake of nutrients, contained in a healthy diet are needed. Detoxing the body doesn’t make sense if unhealthy foods, loaded with chemicals are consumed.
Detoxing is an Ongoing Process for me. We are constantly bombarded with toxins and chemicals in our food, water, air and in the “safe and effective” vaccines. Continually cleansing our bodies is necessary to counteract this assault on our health.
I take 2-3 Detox Baths per week, with either Epsom salts, or Bentonite clay. I make the water really hot and spend 30 minutes soaking. I run a heater to raise room temperature and increase perspiration. I lose 1-1.5 lbs (up to 1.5kg) of weight during the half an hour this way.

Epsom salt isn’t an actual real salt, it is a mineral compound called magnesium chloride. The Epsom salts I use contain essential oils. Essential oils are very healing and their scents are wonderful, greatly enhancing the experience. I drink plenty of water afterward to flush out the toxins that were released.
Bentonite clay is classified as Natural, Pharmaceutical and Food grade. The most common application for them is skin care. I use “natural”, or “pharmaceutical” grades for my baths.
I add 1-2 cups to the water and spend 30 minutes soaking. I frequently immerse my hair in the water, the minerals in the clay are beneficial for hair and skin. After I started taking these baths, I noticed there was less gray in my hair.
Taking these baths isn’t only therapeutic, but very soothing and relaxing, especially during cold winters and is a very pleasant part of my self care.

I also take Bentonite Clay Internally. This clay needs to be “food grade”. Follow the directions when preparing the drink. Clay is very sticky when it comes in contact with water, I use a hand held food mixer to break it up.
Zeolite powder is another part of my Detox routine. Zeolite is a volcanic substance. Many toxins, such as heavy metals are positively charged. Epsom salt, Bentonite clay and Zeolite are all negatively charged and are able to attract and remove positively charged toxins from the body.
EDTA – ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, or calcium disodium is used for chelation therapy. Chelation therapy is an intravenously administered detox method, that is used to treat lead and heavy metal poisoning. EDTA binds to metal ions and can be excreted from the body. It is available in capsule and powder, they are included in my detox routine as well. Two examples:

To summarize, I maintain a healthy diet (1) | detox ongoing (2) | take Epsom salt (3) and Clay baths (4) | take clay internally (5) | add zeolite (6) | and EDTA (7).
To simplify the process, I make a drink after my detox bath, mixing the recommended amount of Bentonite clay and Zeolite with water and take my EDTA capsules with that. I drink about a quart, or 1 liter of water following the bath and do this 2-3 times per week. I try not to eat anything for 2 hours before and after.
